IFFCO - Kandla wins the Shram Ratna & Shram Veer award - Gujarat Govt

It is a matter of pride and honour as IFFCO - Kandla makes another glorious milestone by winning "Shram Ratna" and "Shram Veer" Award by Gujarat Government. The award was presented in a mega function in presence of Mr Ramanbhai Patel, Minister of state Home, MP Kutch, MLA Gandhidham, Collector Kutch and Shri M R Patel, Sr. Executive Director, IFFCO-Kandla.

The following employees from the Unit received the award :

1. Shri Sukesh Mangal, Operator(Offsites) has been awarded "Shram Ratna" for his suggestion on "Utilisation of heat energy from Ammonia Refrigeration System to heat liquid Ammonia from -33 C to 0 - 5 C for NPK plant operating on pipe reactor technology which has resulted in elimination of steam". The other savings include power saving and make up water saving. The total annual savings realised on account of implementing this suggestion is Rs. 2.73 crore. The award carries cash of Rs. 25000/-, certificate & memento.

2. Shri Rajesh P Patel, Sr. Engineer(P E) was awarded "Shram Veer" award for his suggestion "Modifications & retrofitting in NPK plant to reduce ammonia losses". The various modifications include providing scrubber liquor spray in fumes duct discharge, ammonia sparger reorientation & operation of scrubber at low pH. The ammonia losses have reduced by about 50 ppm and this has resulted in annual savings of Rs. 50 lakh. The award carries cash prize of Rs. 10000/-, certificate & memento.
