IFFCO-Kandla Wins Greentech Silver Award For Environment Excellence

IFFCO - Kandla got the privilege and honor of winning the "Greentech Silver Award For Environment Excellence - 2015".The award was received by Shri A.K.Sharma Dy. General Manager (P.E) from the Chief guest Shri R.K.Dubey, former CMD, Canara Bank and Shri Kamaleshwar Saran, CEO, Greentech. Also present on the occasion were Dr.K.U.Mistry,Chairman GPCB and other Environment Experts.The function was held at Novotel Convention Centre, Hyderabad on 27th, Nov. 2015.

IFFCO-Kandla has successfully reduced the ammonia emission from average of (140-150) ppm to (50-60) ppm and for NPK grades it is (30-40) ppm. Also the SPM (Solid Particulate Matter) from average of ?140 ppm to (90-100) ppm.All this has been done with in-house innovation and modification with cost just within few lakhs. It is the first in the country that plant commissioned in 1975 and 1981 have been so well revamped with in-house innovative modifications to give best environmental standards. The GPCB norms are 175 ppm for ammonia and 150 ppm for SPM. IFFCO - Kandla has carried out 200 hectares mangrove plantation for its subsidiary IKBL in compliance to the CRZ guideline and more than 75% survival of mangroves will protect the coastline. The tree plantation by IFFCO has been taken up in massive way in plant, township, Gandhidham and Pantiya which has a Cordet to cater to training needs of farmers.
