
IFFCO’s strategic acquisition
With its historic acquisition in 2005, Paradeep Production Facility marked the first private sector acquisition by any cooperative in India. Paradeep port’s draft enabled year-round entry of large ships and conveyer belt facility made it easy to transport material, making Paradeep the right strategic investment for IFFCO. Paradeep facility has a production capacity of 23,10,000 MTPA of Sulphuric Acid, 8,75,000 MTPA of Phosphoric Acid and 19,20,000 MTPA of DAP.

Plant Head

P. K. Mahapatra (General Manager)
Shri P.K. Mahapatra currently holds the position of Unit Head of IFFCO Paradeep Unit. A Mechanical Engineer from the 1989 batch of REC Rourkela, he has over 32 years of experience in project management across various industries.
Before joining IFFCO in 2007, he worked with JK Group of Industries, Reliance Group, Oswal Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd., and TATA. He has deep expertise in equipment, plant operations, and process management, along with strong leadership and business acumen.
Mr. Mahapatra has presented numerous technical papers at industry conferences. At IFFCO, he has served as the Technical Head from March,2019 and became Plant Head in October 2024. Under his leadership, the IFFCO Paradeep Unit has successfully implemented key projects, enhancing productivity, safety, environmental sustainability, and energy efficiency.
